Antonio Davis enters stands to overshadow Bulls' OT win
What I don't understand is why the NBA doesn't have a special private box for the players familes to watch the game from. Suppose someone tries to kidnap one of the players family members? I can't believe the NBA allows this scenario to unfold.
Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Ben Gordon hit a jumper from just inside the three-point line as time expired, lifting the Chicago Bulls past the New York Knicks, 106-104, in a game that got ugly off the court at the United Center.
Despite the heroics, though, the game was marred with an incident, as Knicks forward Antonio Davis was ejected late in overtime after going high into the stands during a timeout. Davis, who did not touch anyone in the crowd, leapt over the scorers' table before calmly entering the seats to defend his wife, who was being harassed in the stands.
"I witnessed my wife being threatened by a man that I learned later to be intoxicated," Davis said. "I saw him tough her and I know I should not have acted the way I did, but I would have felt terrible if I didn't react. There was no time to call security. It happened too quickly."
